Let’s just say I’m a big Twilight fun and I couldn’t wait to see New Moon. But surprise, surprise… the movie disappointed me. Ok… I have to admit that New Moon wasn’t my favorite book of the saga (Team Eclipse!) and my expectations were probably too high, but this movie was really too commercial in my opinion. I watched the movie with my friends yesterday night and they had the same impression. I can’t say I didn’t like it at all because… you know… I’m a teenage girl who loves vampires & love stories but sometimes it made me laugh because it was subconsciously comic. It’s not good when a teenager laughs in the romantic scenes of a movies… am I become so cynical?
Now please tell me a good reason why a person has to photographed while he’s eating or doing routine stuff like going to the supermarket…
I think privacy must be respected even if we’re talking about Hollywood Stars, because they’re normal people just like everybody! Famous people are neither toys or gods and they have to be treated like human beings.
This is not moralistic or presumptuous because I admit that I’m fascinated by fame and beauty but it’s weird to put celebrities on a pedestal and treat them like things.
Maybe you find it obvious but I’ve read a lot of articles about stalking and obsession on newspapers that really impressed me. Unfortunately stalking is a big problem not just in that kind of environment.
I understand that when you adore someone the only thing you want is staying with him/her but the relationship has to be mutual and living in a dream is not always good because we live in reality.
Often people just go to the cinema to watch blockbusters and they don’t know that the world is plenty of thousands good (or even amazing) indipendent films. I’m not a critic so this is just my humble opinion on some good films.
THE LAST OF THE HIGH KINGS (AKA SUMMER FLINGS) 1996
“It is 1977, Dublin rocks to the music of Thin Lizzy and the world is stunned by the death of Elvis Presley. Frankie, caught between acne and adulthood, has just completed his final exams in school. Convinced he will fail, he survives the summer organising a beach party, having lustful thoughts about two girls he believes are unobtainable and fending off the advances from a visiting American family friend, all whilst coping with his oddball family.”
It’s not the classic teen movie about adolescence sex & drugs & rock n’ roll but it faces some important issues: ethics linked to religious intolerance and the Irish Question. Moreover the lines quotes James Joyce and Hemingway.
The first thing I wanna say it’s that I live in Italy, so it was impossible for me to go to San Diego (unfortunately) and I’m going to talk about it because I think it’s an amazing event and I hate the cliché saying that it’s just for nerd and geek! It’s a stupid lie.
My favourite highlights:
Yes, I admit it… I’m a big fan of the Twilight Saga (honestly I like the books most) but I can’t wait to see New Moon even if my favourite is definitely Eclipse. And yes, I have a crush on Robert Pattinson but I’m not going to faint or scream if I saw him… just a smiling photo and an autograph, no hystheria (I’m not judging anyone, I respect everybody but I don’t like noise… lol).
