Are you tired of the same old social networks? If you love books, I have something here to show you! aNobii!

I’ve recently discovered a very useful site that connects readers from all over the world in a virtual space made of books and reviews. Definitely a paradise for bookaholics! After creating your personal account with a few clicks, you can start adding your books by entering ISBN code or the book title and you’ll build your own virtual bookshelf.  You can also add reviews, ratings, information and the most interesting thing is comparing your literary tastes with other users.

Entering ISBN was really funny because I literally emptied my bookshelf  and I rediscovered beloved but forgotten books. Books I read when I was a child, boring books, classics… You can have the satisfaction of rewarding your favorite book with five stars or giving a book you hated just one star.

Another advantage of this site is the  possibility of discovering new books, perhaps inspired by the positive review written by another user.  It ‘s always nice to find someone who appreciated your favorite book!

Do you know Steven Klein? For those who are not familiar with this name I can tell you that he’s an American photographer and filmmaker.  His work has featured in numerous exhibitions, he also shot high-profile advertising campaigns for various clients and recently directed the music video for Lady Gaga’s single, “Alejandro.”

I discovered this artist thanks to that video and I visited his  official site. There are so many pictures and exhibitions and I was really stunned by his talent.

One of my biggest dreams was to become a fashion photographer but it’s a really hard field and you need talent and LUCK! I’m content with taking photos with my new camera (Nikon D60… I love you) but a dream is a dream…   Below you can see some of his pictures from Models.com. it’s a big deal: ironic… It’s NOT a big deal

On September 9 the second season of “The Vampire Diaries”  will be on-screen and obviously I can’t wait! I must say that, as you may know,  I have a weakness for TV-shows. I have an insatiable appetite for episodes and this is not the only show I’m waiting for this September.

I’ve started watching The Vampire Diaries from the very first episode and I was a bit skeptical because I thought it was another show following the growing interest for vampires like the Twilight saga, but I had to change my mind! In my opinion, the Pilot wasn’t particularly exciting because I haven’t seen anything really new, but thanks to a particular character I am a big fan now.

The character that impressed me the most for his breathtaking beauty and his bad boy charm is Damon Salvatore! Ian Somerhalder is just perfect in that role. It was love at first sight. I had already noticed him in “The Rules of Attraction” and when I saw him playing Damon, I was thunderstruck! I have to say that … his stunning eyes are hypnotizing and he could even read the telephone directory and I would be paralyzed for hours listening to his voice. Despite his objective beauty, I discovered a really talented actor and I could not see anyone else playing that role.

After this ode to Ian Somerhalder, it’s right to about the rest of the cast since all the actors are really good. The female main character Elena / Katherine is played by Nina Dobrev and the other male main character Stefan Salvatore is played by Paul Wesley. This trio is amazing.

As for the plot at the beginning I wasn’t very impressed but I quickly changed my mind. The Mystery got more interesting and created a good suspense. The last episode of the first season left me open-mouthed and eager to watch the second season.

Another thing it’s worth mentioning is the soundtrack! Each episode is accompanied by various good songs.

If you love this kind of show, I suggest you to have a look to one episode and I’m sure you won’t regret it. Damon Salvatore won’t disappoint you … not even Stefan!

Everytime I come back from London, I find myself with at least 6 books in my suitcase… call me bookaholic. This summer I didn’t stop my tradition and my new discovery is Lucy-Anne Holmes.

On a rainy evening in London – Pimlico I started reading her first book “50 Ways to find a lover” and I buried my nose in it for three hours, despite the weariness of an entire day as a tourist (tourists are crazy… you know) . The title might suggest the usual romance novel and it actually belongs to that category, but it has definitely that little bit extra. The humor is biting, the situations are very funny and the plot is ingenious.

The main character is particularly funny, sometimes irreverent and nice. The adventures of a single woman is not a new theme but I really appreciated the originality and the wittiness.

Sarah Sargeant has been single for three years and nine months. She has just spent five months plucking up the courage to ask out a balding man with a paunch who works in her local pub. The gentleman in question informed her that he would rather stay in and watch the Narnia movie on DVD. Her pride has not just been bruised, it’s been disembowelled. And she vows it’s the last time she will ever reach out to a member of the opposite sex.

But her family and friends have other ideas. They enter her into a reality TV show against her will, persuade her to go speed dating and even more radically, they encourage her to start a blog. Suddenly Sarah Sargeant is on a mission.

Since I devoured the first book I noticed with joy a billboard in the Tube about a new book. “The (im) perfect Girlfriend” is definitely a worthy sequel of the first book and it’s every bit as good as classics like Bridget Jones or Sophie Kinsella’s novels.

In this novel we find Sarah who has finally found her love but it seems she’s doing everything she could to lose it! Topics such as jealousy and perfection are always discussed with the usual author’s shrewd humor.

You’ll fall in love with Sarah … I’m sure!

Paris is magic and you can’t deny it! I’m not really into french movies but I was curious to learn more about european cinema since I live in Europe and I’m part of this kind of culture. I’ve studied French for 9 years and I really like its sound and I enjoyed watching this movie in the original language. The plot was not bad and the actors were really good. Although the singing parts were sometimes a bit boring, I have to say that I like it! Weird but nice!

And well… Louis Garrel is my new love! lol
